Orgaaniline&nbsp;aines&nbsp;koosneb&nbsp;enamasti&nbsp;vetikate&nbsp;v\u00f5i&nbsp;bakterite&nbsp;j\u00e4\u00e4nustest&nbsp;moodustunud&nbsp;kerogeenist.&nbsp;<br><br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">P\u00f5levkivituhka tekib aastas 15 korda rohkem kui olmej\u00e4\u00e4tmeid <\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><em>P\u00f5levkivi kasutamisel tekib suures koguses j\u00e4\u00e4kprodukte \u2013 tuhka ja poolkoksi. N\u00e4iteks Eestis lisandub praeguse tempo juures umbes 5\u20137 miljonit tonni tuhka ja miljon tonni poolkoksi aastas, millest taaskasutatakse ainult v\u00e4ga v\u00e4ikest osa <\/em>(Riho&nbsp;M\u00f5tlep:&nbsp;Composition&nbsp;and&nbsp;diagenesis&nbsp;of&nbsp;oil&nbsp;shale&nbsp;industrial&nbsp;solid&nbsp;wastes&nbsp;(doktorit\u00f6\u00f6)).&nbsp;<br>P\u00f5levkivituhk ehk p\u00f5letatud p\u00f5levkivi on p\u00f5levkivi p\u00f5letamisel tekkiv mineraalne materjal. Eesti p\u00f5levkivis on orgaanilise aine sisaldus kuni 50%. P\u00f5letamise k\u00e4igus j\u00e4\u00e4b tuhana j\u00e4rele umbes pool algsest p\u00f5levkivist, mis ladestatakse tuhav\u00e4ljadele, seda peamiselt Ida-Virumaal Balti ja Eesti soojuselektrijaamade l\u00e4hedal.&nbsp;<br><br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">P\u00f5levkivituha omadustest<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>P\u00f5levkivituhk koosneb mitmetest tavalistest looduses esinevatest mineraalidest nagu kvarts, p\u00e4evakivid, karbonaatsed mineraalid, aga ka p\u00f5letamise k\u00e4igus tekkinud uutest mineraalidest, s.h. klinkrimineraalidest, mis annavad tuhale kasulikud isetsementeeruvad omadused. &nbsp;P\u00f5levkivituhk iseenesest pole loodusele kahjulik \u2013 seda v\u00f5ib kasutada v\u00e4etistena ja pinna happesuse v\u00e4hendamiseks. Balti soojuselektrijaama tuhav\u00e4ljal, mida ei kasutatud pikka aega, kasvasid kased ja erinevad taimed. Ka praegu on tuulepargiks muudetud vana tuham\u00e4gi haljastatud. Loodusele ohtlikuks muutub p\u00f5levkivituhk seda transportiva vee t\u00f5ttu, mis on v\u00e4ga aluseline. Kuigi tuhavees leitud ioonid on peamiselt samad, mis looduses, muudab k\u00f5rge&nbsp;pH&nbsp;vee keskkonnale kahjulikuks.
